Friendship Through Recovery aims to raise awareness of mental health recovery and the role of friendship in this, provide resources to empower friendships' role in mental health recovery, make links with community resources, and develop the evidence base for policy and practice regarding friendships and mental health recovery.
Recovery journeys
One of our goals is greater awareness of, and expectation of, mental health recovery. Part of a recovery journey may involve our friendships, and we wish to raise awareness of the active contribution friendships make.
To do so, we are creating a "community of shared interest" which you are invited to join - as an individual or an organisation - to explore, recognise and initiate contributions.

Empowering personal communities
We also believe that information-giving and awareness-raising is only part of a recovery story - our actions can speak louder than words.
One of our goals is to provide resources and help create opportunities for friendships to make active contributions to mental health recovery, as well as share ideas about what has helped from within friendships.

Evidence base for policy and practice
We envisage a more robust evidence-base for recovery, and the role of friendship in this, in policy and practice.
We will compile and share research and also aim to participate in research programmes.
